Google is only a few week away from launching it's new free service called 'Google Speak'.
It boasts a lot of cool features like...
- Listening in on calls before you answer them
- Simultanius redirection of any call to multiple numbers allowing one shared number for work, home, and/or cell.
-Cheap long distance (like 2 cents a min to China)
-Free voice mail (even get your voice mails transcribed instantly and sent as text messages)

I've been using the beta service called "Grand Central" now for over a year. It has some really nice features.
ReplyDeleteI like having one number to give to all my friends and coworkers. It rings my office, home, cell, and computer all at the same time.
You can pick up a call on your office phone, hit a button and transfer it to your cell phone, and then transfer it to your home phone. The person on the other end only has to dial one number.
You can screen calls. You can send calls to voicemail, and the voicemail shows up in your email inbox. You can temporarily receive calls at a friend's house.
You can record phone calls easily. You can use the IP Telephony client Gizmo5 to receive calls on your computer to your Grand Central number. I don't know if they have Las Cruces local numbers, but they had Austin local numbers available.
And best of all, it seems to be free. I don't know if this will change, but given all the other free services Google offers, it probably will stay free.
